Dr. Brian Gearity, Dr. G, is Director and Assistant Professor of the Master of Arts in Sport Coaching (MASC) program at the University of Denver. He was brought in by the University in 2014 to be the founder and directer of the program. Dr. Gā€™s direction and leadership has led the MASC to be National Strength and Coaching Association (NSCA) recognized. Dr. G teaches full-time, conducts research to innovate in the sport coaching field, publishes articles, contributes to publications in higher education and mentors students across disciplines. As an advocate for sport psychology, Dr. G, consults with athletes and teams on the five cardinal mental skills of performance, as well as diversity and inclusivity training.

Earlier in his career, Dr. G spent time as a strength and conditioning coach working with the Cleveland Indians Baseball Team and the University of Tennessee. Dr. G received his Ph.D in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Tennessee. As a tenure track professor and program director, Dr. G sits on the Chair Advisory Committee and the Financial Planning Committee at DU among others.
